Works & Gallery

This part of my website is a growing collection of all the things I worked/working on. Moving images – sure?

Due to my fundamental belief that art can be free from the need to monetarize it, you can’t buy my artworks.

It is however possible to trade them and to reflect on the idea of value. Is this painting worth a nice meal for two? Should a sculpture be as valuable as a house? Does the artist need a new tool or some Oolong tea? Check out the Tauschliste or write me an e-mail to art-ät-alfredraddatz-dot-org.

Installation/Object: Tell-me-Phone

The idea was born in the late summer of 2020 when a friend of mine needed a stationary info point to tell visitors about the history of the location they were visiting. It needed to be low cost, durable and self-explaining.

So I transformed an old telephone into a “sound installation”-ish object. From this the idea grew further and I made a second version using an other telephone and put songs about telephones on the internal playlist. In the next version I will have figured out a way to skip tracks by means of the dial disc.

Installation: Ring Clock

For my workbench I’m planning to install an LED ring clock into the surface. The simple circuit will be copied from a couple of free online sources like this or this. The real challange will be to blow the initial design into a bike wheel size or bigger.
